I am a father, a husband, a climber and a scientist. My wife and two kids have our home base in Napa, CA. My research interests are studying the air-sea interaction within turbulent scales with focus on wave dynamics above and below the [air-sea] interface. During my postdoc at UConn I focused on wave dynamics from a modeling standpoint with applications to sea level rise and the flooding effects of severe weather events at the CT coastline. Right now, I am pursing a Teaching/ Research based career at CSU Maritime Academy. Regarding climbing, well ... let's say that CA seems to be pretty ideal for it.

ADDITIONAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
-
Ongoing collaborations with the UConn (University of Connecticut) Optics and Remote Sensing Lab (COLORS) to develop new methods for measuring breaking waves, bubble plumes and whitecap statistics
-
Ongoing collaboratives efforts with the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory (Columbia University) to develop wave dependent air-sea interaction parameterizations
-
Lead PI in a multi institution collaborative effort. Through NSF funding in collaboration with UConn the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory, WHOI and the University of Rhode Island we will be deploying a field campaign to study wave driven turbulence at the air-sea interface. Our main objective is to improve wave driven turbulent parameterizations in global circulation models
